For five days in February, 2022, we held a virtual advocacy event through Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. This event featured interactive content, showcasing educational and community advocates from across Canada. In particular, the Educated + Empowered event focused on issues of economic disparity, houselessness, and marginalization

Summer Book Club

Just this past summer, we ran an online book club for youth aged 8 to 12. Each Thursday evening, students were welcomed to the free event where we met to discuss new literature with an emphasis on building comprehension skills. To adhere to COVID-19 guidelines, we met virtually and had quite a successful summer engaging inspiring students.

educational Resources Series

Over the winter months, it can be difficult for students to stay motivated in their journey to improve literacy skills. In the Winter of 2021, we launched the Educational Resource series to combat this issue. Five sessions were presented over IGTV for anyone to watch or review as they pleased!

Community Letters of Appreciation

This letter campaign compiled thank-you letters written by youth in the Niagara region to frontline workers. The letters not only helped students to strengthen their literacy skills but also gave them the opportunity to share their own gratitude!
